Today, for new customers the first s-user administrator is identified early in the sales process. Then, during the order booking process, the s-user is created and the user information is provided to the customer. Also, if the order is for a cloud product, the information about provisioning and using the cloud product is sent to that administrator. SAP has found that there are many cases where the first s-user is not correctly identified and the post-sale experience has extra, time consuming steps. SAP is changing this process to allow customers to securely self-select the s-user administrator. Instead of creating an initial s-user, SAP will provide a User Onboarding Token that can be used by the customer on a secure website to pick the initial s-user administrator. This presentation will show the improved process and highlight the improvements from a customer’s point of view.

SAP is very aware of the login complexity in managing multiple SAP accounts and passwords. To improve this experience SAP Universal ID was introduced. SAP Universal ID is a single unified account across SAP sites that puts the user in control by linking all existing company associations (S-user IDs) and provides the ability to switch seamlessly between them as needed. By the beginning of 2023, users will need to link all new and existing S-users to an SAP Universal ID so that there will be no stand-alone S-users. The S-user will be utilized as an entitlement under the SAP Universal ID.

When customers move from on-premise to cloud offerings, they accelerate their business transformation—and simplify their license model with SAP. That means customers running cloud solutions can now use the flexible, simplified Full Usage Equivalent (FUE) model instead of the traditional ERP Central Component on-premise Named Users (NUL) license model. But our customers still running on-premise solutions need a way to estimate FUE costs and structure if they decide to move to SAP S/4HANA. The S/4 Trusted Authorization Review (S.T.A.R.) service, offered by the Global License Audit and Compliance team, can help. With the tool and service, you as on-premise customers can simulate and calculate their FUE requirements for a shift to S/4HANA. With S.T.A.R., customers can review the user, roles, and profiles. With this service SAP will provide professional expertise remotely or on-site to assist you with your transformation journey and will provide a tailored concierge service that helps to simulate and optimize existing and future user license requirements.
